Standing on Madison Ave.

Aug 05

Driving to the lake.

There is humming
Highways speak the tone
Of speedy souls mindless drones
Weary of the cunning.

An oil painting appears
To be running horizontally
Velocity changes ideology
Awkward conversations near.

Silences become steady
Drowsy I am daydreaming
Rays of sunlight gleaming

Awoke, never ready.

Shore

I’ve lost a thought at the shore,
As the busy waters fill my head
I learned a sound instead,
There was no longer a floor.

Million grains beneath my feet,
Warms the bottom of my heels
Sunsets compare to how this feels
Horizon, sea, and sun meet.

Stillness of time
Capturing the moment
Framing to never forget,
Enlightenment ever so fine.

Daydreaming; via the drive.

In a car I sit
Conversations become unfit,
Rhythmic humming of the tires
Clattering of dashboard wires.

Weather washed windows speak
Tell of the painted streak,
Water marking my view out
Day dreaming of a different route.

An alphabet of greens lay
the landscape gently away,
Fall is beginning to show
Summer days begin to slow.

Cafe.

Mumbled words,

Chewed up phrases

Calmly stir empty spaces,

Conversations remain a blur.

Polite faces,

Wave a smile

Moments last a while,

Takes away to newer places.

Fresh breeze,

Sits to comfort

Wishful thoughts import,

Eyes begin to please.

Windows clear,

Lead to an imagination

Saying hello a temptation,

Brighter, the moment is here.

Heavy eyes, oh so heavy.

Each breathe has slowed,

Mind begins to clear

Thoughts, cares, or fear,

The silence bares much to hold.

Playlist of fond memories, play

For the quiet audience in my head,

Inevitable cheers ringing as I fled,

Enchanted dreamers chose to stay.

Jul 30

The falling of a petal, tulip.

I grew as a petal on a tulip,
Matured beyond the fruit on a tree,
Slowly fell as the earth called
Me down to its arms to be.

Motions waved past the stale,
As my thoughts grew impaired,
Lovely songs echoed in the near
As figures stopped and glared.
